Our sympathies go out to you and your family, Milton. Joan was such a fun-loving, caring person. In the years that I knew her she seldom had anything but a smile on her face and kind words to say. I have fond memories of playing in the Hobo Band with her and sharing our jokes and crazy antics. Please know that you are in our prayers and thoughts at this difficult time. Bruce and I are making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joan's name.

I didn't know that Mrs. Knack had cancer, let alone one of the pancreas. I was saddened to hear of her death. Her daughter, Karen, was one of my classmates and friends. I remember when in grade school and at mass, someone got sick and my backside got 'everything'. The nuns let Karen and I go to her home in Loyal (remember the upstairs apartment) and I got to wear some of Karen's clothes that day. I also remember her sister, Barbie, at the time and how difficult it is to lose someone. Then years later, I met Barbie's daughter, Elizabeth, on a confirmation retreat. When Elizabeth graduated is when I met David. I have always kept this family in my prayers and I hope you can hold on to the great memories that Joan provided you.

So sorry to hear this news. I worked with Joan for a short time at the Marshfield Clinic and got to know Milt as well through the years. Joan gave back to the community in so many ways and was always so nice to visit with. So sorry for your loss. My heartfelt sympathy to Milt and family.
