Condolences to the Family of Allen J. Schoonover

Patricia C. Denk Marshfield WI – Posted On: October 14, 2018

To all of you wonderful Schoonovers:
Being Sharon's younger sister, I remember well when she and Allen were dating - we younger girls thought he was so handsome! - I remember seeing his senior picture in the annual, there was always a slogan right beside the photo, Allen's was: "I wish I'd been born rich, instead of so darn good-looking." - we were so happy about that, because it fit him so well!
We will miss him from our family, but look forward to seeing him again in Heaven one day....Love, Pat

Can't be there today to pay final respect to "The Duke", but wanted to send a message to Sharon and all the great children. My most enduring memory has to be the trip to Phoenix to visit Terry (I think it was 1977). The car breakdown in Colorado, getting lost in New Mexico, the snowy return trip through Wolf Creek pass. The trip was more fun than the actual visit. I have used this phrase to describe other people, but it is especially true for Al: "If you are spending time with Al, and you are not having fun, it is your own fault, because he is always having fun". Do him proud, and spend the day celebrating his life without being sad.

My prayers and sympathies are with the Schoonover family. Allen is now at home in heaven and is reunited with his many friends from Loyal that have gone before him. Allen always had a smile on his face whenever you saw him. He will be missed.
