HOWARD L. HAHN, age 70, of Loyal, WI, passed away in Marshfield, WI at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital on Friday, December 2, 2016. Inurnment will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, in Minneapolis, MN, at 12:15pm on Friday, December 9, 2016.
Howard LeRoy Hahn was born on June 4, 1946 in Gaylord, MN to Rufus and Ruth (Glander) Hahn. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Prior Lake, graduating from Prior Lake High School in 1964. After high school, Howard was drafted in to the U.S. Army on November 8, 1965 and served in the Airborne Division. After his honorable discharge on November 7, 1967, Howard returned to Chaska, MN and drove truck for Berger Transport. He was united in marriage to Merchelle L. Larson on April 7, 1973 in Nashua, IA, at The Little Brown Church in the Vale. They later divorced. Howard later went to work in Minneapolis for the Honeywell, where he worked for more than 20 years before retiring in 2004. He moved to Menahga, MN where he enjoyed the peaceful, outdoor life. Howard moved to Central Wisconsin in 2010, where he resided until his death.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and had many interests, but especially loved hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and football.
He is survived by 3 children: Michael Hahn of Minnesota; Justin (Valarie) Hahn of Spencer; Monica (Shane) Degenhardt of Loyal; 6 grandchildren; one brother: Myron (Sandy) Hahn of Deer River, MN; one sister: Darlin (Johnny) Tobeck of Grand Rapids, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Christin Hahn on September 29, 1980.
