SARA M. GUST, age 97, of Marshfield, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the House of the Dove, in Marshfield.  Private family services will be held at a later date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Marshfield.
Sara Mary Rodesch was born on July 20, 1918, in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanore (Weinfurtner) Rodesch.  She attended St. John Catholic School, in Marshfield, and later attended Interior  Design school.  On May 11, 1936, Sara was united in marriage to Harold J. Gust, of Hewitt, at St. John Catholic Church, in Marshfield.  Harold and Sara would've been married 80 years on May 11, 2016.  Harold passed on June 19, 2008.
In 1948, Gust General Construction Co. was formed, and in 1957, Sara and Harold purchased their first old house and remodeled it into apartments, creating the beginning of Gust Apartments.  Sara did the accounting and interior design for both businesses, managed their household, and raised 6 children.
Sara was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Ladies Knights of Columbus, Rosary Altar Society, and delivered Meals On Wheels with her daughter-in-law, Shirley.
She was a die-hard Packer Backer, and loved to debate politics and many other topics.  She had a genuine curiosity (and opinion-smile) on just about any subject. Sara, with her husband Harold, loved to play bingo, enjoyed time with their children and grandchildren, and loved the big family gatherings for holidays and special events.  Sara will be missed by all who knew her.
Sara is survived by her children: Harold Jr. (Shirley) Gust,  SaraLyn E. Gust-Heiting,  Daniel (Maria) Gust, all of Marshfield,  Nelda (Paul) Wolf of Pittsville,  DuWayne Gust of La Crosse, and Mary E. Gust of Reno, NV;  12 grandchildren;  21 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold, on June 19, 2008; and one brother: Harry Rodesch.
Sara's family thanks all of the neighbors, friends, and everyone who helped out in any way with Sara's care the last 6 months.  Special Blessings to all.
