Full Obituary

     NORBERT A. "AL" "ALLEN" "LOUIE" LEWIS, age 73, of Loyal, passed away in the town of Loyal on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.  A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal.  Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate and burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 9:30am until time of service.
     Norbert Allen Lewis was born on January 22, 1943 in Marshfield, the son of Betty Marie Lewis.  He was raised in Loyal by his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Elva Lewis, and received his education in area schools, graduating from Loyal High School in 1961.  After high school, Al worked for a short time at Borden Foods, in Loyal, before being drafted in to the U.S. Army on July 9, 1964.  He served his country until his honorable discharge on June 17, 1966.  He returned to Wisconsin and worked in Milwaukee, in construction.  Al was united in marriage on May 25, 1968 to Pondri E. Smitke at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Marshfield.  They lived in Milwaukee until moving to Loyal in 1973.  Al went to work for the Clark County Highway Department until retiring in 2002.  After retiring, Al enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, making wine, smoking fish and helping his daughter's whether they needed it or not.
     He will be dearly missed by his wife, Pondri, of Loyal;  two daughters:  Kelly Hainz and Kim (Darin) Bogdonovich, both of Loyal;  three grandsons: Cody and Dustin Garlach, Bo Bogdonovich;  one aunt:  Clara Lewis; and two cousins:  Lois (Thomas) Ziegler-O'Donnell and Dr. Loretta (Edward) Grobe.
     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents:  Andrew and Elva Lewis; his mother: Betty M. Lewis;  his son-in-law: Steve Hainz; and his uncle: Leslie Lewis.
