THERESA R. PEASE, age 101, of Thorp, passed away at Miller Alternative Care on Monday, April 18, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, in Thorp. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate and burial will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 9:30am until time of service.
Theresa Rose Herman was born on June 19, 1914 in Thorp, WI, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Bogumill) Herman. She was raised and received education in the Thorp area, graduating from Thorp High School in 1932. After completing high school, she attended nursing school in Madison. It was in Madison where she met Robert L. Pease, and they married and later moved to California. She returned to Thorp in 1952 and purchased her home on Washington Street. She worked for Thorp Finance for several years before starting her own photography business.
Over the years, she took many graduation pictures, wedding pictures, passport photos and commercial photos for business flyers and pamphlets. She practiced her photography until entering Oakbrook Health & Rehab.
In her spare time, she enjoyed taking pictures, painting pictures and playing golf. One of Theresa's highlights, was winning a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero in a contest.
She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, and its PCCW, a member of the Wolf River Artists, a member of the Wisconsin Professional Photographers Association, and a member of the Indianhead Professional Photographers Association.
Theresa is survived by two sons: Robert C. Pease of Stanley, and Michael (Patricia) Peace of Schaumburg, IL; three step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Gerald, Robert and John Herman; four sisters: Louise Misfeldt, Jeanne Herman, Rose Herman and Marie Kowieski.
