Full Obituary

     LEONARD J. "LENNY" RUETH, age 90, of Loyal, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield.  Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Loyal.  Rev. Steve Brice will officiate and burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Darrell Courtney, Shawn Rueth, Ian Paulson, Caitlin Courtney, Karter Rueth and Brody Scherer.  Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm, with a 7:30pm prayer service, and again at the church, on Tuesday, from 10am until time of service.
     Leonard Joseph Rueth was born on June 30, 1925 in Loyal, WI, to Frank and Bertha (Schweiger) Rueth.  He was raised on the family farm and received his education at St. Anthony Catholic School.  As a young man, Lenny worked at O.W. Trindal in Loyal, and later worked for the county out of the Loyal garage.  He was united in marriage to Betty L. Mathews on May 29, 1948 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.  He farmed with his wife, and worked 43 years for Clark County as grader operator and shop foreman until retiring in 1987.
     He was a very active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Lenny had many interests, but especially loved spending time with family and friends, deer hunting, traveling, woodworking, playing sheepshead and cribbage, and the Monday card club at city hall.
     Lenny will be dearly missed by his six children:  Diane Courtney (Bill Neville) of Neillsville,  Andy Rueth of Neillsville,  Debbie (Mike) Carew of Green Bay, WI,  Jeff Rueth of Spring, TX,  Tim (Jodi) Rueth of Neillsville, and Rebecca (David) Scherer of Loyal;  twelve grandchildren:  Darrell (Penny), Kevin, Natasha, Shawn, Dena, Chad, Jessica, Kelsey, Krista, Karter, Brody and Leah;  seven great-grandchildren:  Caitlin, Morgan, Rylee, Claire, Matthew, Johnathan and Ian; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents;  his wife, Betty, on October 7, 2009;  one daughter-in-law:  Tracey Rueth;  one brother:  Franklin; and three sisters:  Frances Langfeldt, Rosie Beaver and Marion Elsinger.
