Victoria Angela Bukovec was born on May 21, 1921 in Willard, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Sterbanc) Bukovec. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at North Willard School. Vicki was united in marriage to Selvian A. Krultz on December 30, 1939 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chicago. She worked at Brach Candy Company before the birth of her first child. In 1943, they moved to Greenwood, where they purchased a dairy farm. While raising children and helping out on the farm, Vicki also helped Selvian with his business selling and installing Badger barn equipment. In 1982, they retired, sold the farm to their son, David, and built a new house, where she has resided since.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood, and a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Vicki also belonged to the K.S.K.J. Lodge and the Slovenian Women's Union Branch #102, where she was the 2005 Mother of the Year. She was very involved with her children, and was a 4-H Food Leader for 10 years. She also demonstrated making apple strudel for area homemaker's clubs.
Vicki had many interests, but especially enjoyed crocheting, quilt-making, baking, reading, gardening, traveling the U.S. and abroad, and collecting calendar plates.
Since her retirement, her hobbies and children have kept her busy. On any given Sunday, her driveway was filled with a number of cars from whichever children made it home to visit. Her life has been blessed with a good family and good friends in the community.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Dorothy Galiger (John Miller) of Sun Lakes, AZ, Donna Reineke of New Berlin, WI, Edward Krultz of Greenwood, Ralph Krultz of Greenwood, Gary Krultz of Greenwood, Barb (Steve) Koschak of Madison, Bonnie (Tom) Brierton of Junction City, WI, Jana (Gary) Greenwald of Marshfield; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Debbie Krultz of Greenwood; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Selvian, on December 19, 2001; one son: David, on October 30, 2002; a son-in-law: Jim Reineke; 2 daughters-in-law: Judy Krultz and Barbara Krultz; 6 sisters: Mary Rozich, Catherine Chimiel, Louise Bukovec, Margaret Winecki, Anne Brunke, Emily Knepper; and 4 brothers: Joseph, John, Albert and Edward Bukovec.
Vicki's family asks that donations be made in her name for a memorial to be established at a later date.
