Virginia Margaret Grybczynski was born in Cudahy, WI on May 18, 1929 to Leon and Marie (Ryan) Grybczynski. She attended St. Fredericks grade school, in Cudahy, and spent her high school years at St. Mary's Academy in Milwaukee. Virginia earned her nursing degree at Mt. Sinai Hospital in 1950. She was united in marriage to James J. Tiry on September 1, 1951 at St. Frederick's Catholic Church in Cudahy.
Virginia started her nursing career working for the City of Cudahy Health Department. After moving to Eau Claire, Virginia worked at The Syverson Home and later moved on to work in home health care for The Visiting Nurses Association, which later combined with the City/County Health Department. After retiring, Virginia volunteered with the hospice program offered by Luther Hospital. She also volunteered at the Schlegelmilch House historic site and at the Chippewa Valley Museum both in Eau Claire. After moving to Rock Dam, Virginia volunteered at the High Ground Veterans Memorial in Neillsville, WI.
Virginia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: David (Sue) of Rockland, WI, Michael (Luz) of Bettendorf, IA, Ruth of West Salem, WI, and Patrick (Mariluisa) of San Diego, CA; 7 grandchildren: Nathan (Kayla), Mateo, Anna, Angel, Ariana, Luisa and James; 3 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Gabriella and Beckham; 2 nieces: Anne Tiry (Robert Young) of San Jose, CA; Nancy Stark of Indianapolis, IN; one nephew: John Stark of Bellingham, WA; and by a special family friend: Gustavo Pique and his children.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Milestone Assisted Living in Eau Claire, WI and The Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta, WI. Your attentive care over the time our mother was in your facilities relieved much of the stress of worrying whether her needs were being met. We also would like to thank the staff of Aurora Home Care and St Joseph Hospice for your care of Mom while she was in Eau Claire and Mayo System Health Care Hospice in Sparta.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Virginia's name to a charity of your choice.
