Full Obituary

LUCILLE M. KADOLPH, age 96, of Loyal, died at the Marshfield Care Center on Friday, October 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate and burial will follow in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Shayne Kadolph, Steve Kadolph, Kurt Kadolph, Ken Kadolph, Kevin Kadolph, Shane Wucherpfennig, Jason Gregory and Lennie Wehrman. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kelvin Decorah, Keith Decorah, Brian Fravert and Darin Marsden. Visitation will be held at the church, on Tuesday, from 12 noon until time of service.
Lucille Marie Matthias was born on May 8, 1917 in Greenwood, WI, the daughter of Albert and Alma (Kieselhorst) Matthias. At the age of 5, her family moved to Loyal, and then at the age of 8, they moved to Neenah, WI. She was raised and received her education in Neenah, where she graduated from high school. After graduation, Lucille worked as a telephone operator, in Neenah, for a few years. She was united in marriage to Hillus K. Kadolph, in Neenah, on February 24, 1941. They moved to Loyal and farmed on his family farm. In 1952, they built the Dairy Queen at the south end of Marshfield, which they operated for two years. She worked for several years at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, in Marshfield, and farmed with her husband until 1970. They sold the farm to their son and daughter-in-law, Roger and LaVerne, and moved to Arizona where they resided for eighteen years. They moved back to Loyal in the late 1980's. Her husband, Hillus, died on June 7, 2003. Lucille moved to Marshfield in 2004 and has resided there until her death.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its TLCW, and a member of the Clark County Homemakers. In her spare time, Lucille loved gardening, sewing, quilting and polka dancing.
She will be dearly missed by her 3 sons: Roger (LaVerne) of Loyal, Randy (Jean) of Waupaca, Jack (Vicki) of Loyal; one daughter-in-law: Marian Kadolph of Marshfield; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hillus; her son, Larry; and one brother: Leonard Matthias.
