Full Obituary

     ROGER H. "FROSTY" FRESE, SR, age 86, of Withee, WI, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, WI. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Owen, WI, Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, on Monday, from 9am until time of service. Military rites will be conducted by the Lublin American Legion Post #547 following the service.
     Roger Henry Frese was born on September 29, 1934 on the home farm, in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, to Henry Jr. and Rose C. (Vanderloop) Frese. He was raised on the family farm and educated at Thorp area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1952. After high school, he went to work for Stanley Corporation, in Stanley, WI, until he was inducted into the U.S. Army on January 8, 1958. After his honorable discharge on December 18, 1959, Roger transferred into the U.S. Army Reserves and served until January 7, 1964. He returned to Thorp in December 1959, and continued working at Stanley Corporation. Roger was united in marriage to Joan A. Langiewicz on December 10, 1966 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thorp. Roger later worked at the Thorp Feed Mill, farmed throughout the years and was a rural postal carrier for the Withee Post Office for 35 years. After retiring from the post office in 1996, he began working at Figi's in Neillsville, which he did for several years.
     He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and was very involved in the church's annual turkey dinner, the Lublin American Legion Post #547, the Owen-Withee Vets Club, the Withee Lion's Club, and a member of the Owen Knights of Columbus.
     Roger had many interests, including bowling, pitching horseshoes, and old Westerns, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
     He is survived by his wife, Joan, of Withee; his children: Diane Frese of Walworth, WI, Christina (Wayne) Petranovich of Thorp, Lori Rodezno of Thorp, Roger Jr. (Sharon) of Richlands, NC, Jolene (Justin) Witherall of Owen; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Eva Frese of Tacoma, WA; 2 sisters: Maxine Lingenfelter of Withee, Roxey McAllister of Park City, IL; one sister-in-law: Maryanne Frese of Withee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     Roger was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim, on April 17, 2010; one sister: Lorraine Trohanov; and 2 brothers: Gerald and Bernard Frese..
