Leona was united in marriage to Ervin J. Klick on September 9, 1950 at St. Hedwig's Chapel in Thorp with Rev. Joseph Walijewski officiating. Over the years, Leona worked for Thorp Finance, Pabich's Grocery Store, and finally at Thorp Telephone Co. until her retirement in 1992. After her retirement, Leona continued to live in her home on East Main Street in Thorp until moving to Traditions Assisted Living in 2015.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and making the best chicken soup.
Leona was a member of St. Bernard - St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and its' PCCW, for many years she was a CCD teacher for 3rd and 4th grade, a member of the St. Hedwig Sodality Society and a member of the St. Hedwig Rosary Society. Leona had an abundant faith in God. Her rosaries were so well used they needed occasional repair. Often, Leona would lead the rosary at Thorp Funeral Home or at the church for deceased PCCW members.
She is survived by her two children: Dennis (Donna Meyer-Klick) Klick of Boyd, Ann (Robert) Lawcewicz of Thorp; 6 grandchildren: Michael (Ashley May-Klick) Klick of Akeley, MN, Sarah Klick (Patrick Sperl) of Eau Claire, Andrew Klick of Eau Claire, Kate (Chad) Kallenbach of Elk Mound, Mark (Kayce) Lawcewicz of Eau Claire, and Scott Lawcewicz (Joan Mattheisen) of Thorp; and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
