JULIUS A. KLAPATAUSKAS, age 71, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, in Stanley, WI, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Memorial services will be held at a later date, with interment in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Willard, WI.
Julius Allen Klapatauskas was born on October 20, 1948 in the Town of Mead, rural Thorp, the son of Julius E. and Frieda (Cornwell) Klapatauskas. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1966. After completing his education, he worked for the Clark County Highway Department for 10 years. He was united in marriage to Deborah Pagel on April 24, 1976 in Thorp. They later divorced. Julius worked as a self-employed logger in the Clark County area for many years. He then was united in marriage to Kathleen Fazio, and they lived in rural Willard until her death. Afterwards, Julius went to work as a truck driver for Paul Bugar Trucking, in Loyal, WI, until his retirement.
Julie had many interests, but especially enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and playing sheepshead.
He is survived by his son: Troy Klapatauskas of Neillsville; his grandson: Zach Klapatauskas of Neillsville; his siblings: Eunice (Ron) Hendrickson of Spencer, Arlen Klapatauskas of Thorp, Randy (Leeann) Klapatauskas of Thorp, Karen (Robert) Jordan of Fairland, IN; one sister-in-law: Susan Klapatauskas of Thorp; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Nicholas Klapatauskas.
