EDMUND A. ABRAMOWICZ, SR., age 92, of Lublin, died peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, in Lublin, WI, with Father Madanu Lourdu Raju officiating the mass.  Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.  Rosary will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the church and visitation to follow until the time of service.
Edmund Alexander Abramowicz was born on April 17, 1927 on the family farm in the Town of Taft, the son of Alexander and Mary (Klaceck) Abramowicz.  He was raised on the home farm and graduated from Gilman High School in 1945.  He was united in marriage to Rosemary F. Gostomski on October 20, 1953 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp, WI.  They spent their 63 years together raising a family of seven sons and seven daughters as farmers on his family's home farm in Bellinger, WI.
Edmund believed in a full day of hard work, and despite his hard-shell demeanor at times, he believed in good old-fashioned fun.  He was the instigator of many water fights, practical jokes, and family ball games, inviting anyone who wished to join in.  Edmund thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, telling jokes with a twinkle in his eye, and playing cards.  He truly loved playing harmonica, having big parties, dancing and listening to Polka music.
Edmund was proud of and committed to family.  He loved the large gatherings, the noise, and craziness. Although the family was large, he believed there was always room for “one more” at the table and in his heart. He taught the family integrity, respect, trust and most of all, taught us all that being together was the greatest place to be!
Edmund was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish, the Thorp Moose Lodge, the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council 4634, and was a honorary member of the Lublin American Legion Post 547.
He is survived by sons: Edmund Jr. (Barb),  Paul (JoAnna),  Wayne (Tammie),  David (Karen),  Mark (Lori),  John (Rachel),  Keith (Jessica); and daughters:  Linda (John),  Debbie (Jeff),  Judy,  Jane,  Susie (Richard),  Betty Jo (Bryan), Mary (Jay); 50+ grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Alexander and Mary; his wife: Rosemary; granddaughter: Cassandra McIntire;  one son-in-law:  John McIntire;  eight brothers: Paul, Mike, John, George, Andrew, Walter, Sylvester and Alex;  four sisters: Mary, Ann, Gustavia and Amelia.
To all, as Ed would say, “Tootle-le-do!” or “Na tym czasu (for the time being)”
