     ROBERT J. PROKOPIAK, age 56, of Medford, WI, passed away at his cabin in the Town of Taft, rural Thorp, on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
     Robert John Prokopiak was born on November 18, 1962 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI, the son of Bernard and Victoria (Kozielek) Prokopiak. He was raised on the family farm north of Thorp, received his education in area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1981. He then attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and received an associates degree in Agricultural Mechanics. Robert was united in marriage to Tammy Drymiller on July 21, 1984 at St. Hedwig's Chapel in Thorp. They later divorced. He worked at Area Equipment in Thorp for 2 years before moving to Medford. While in Medford, Robert worked for Mueller Brothers as a mechanic for several years, and for the past 6 years for Melvin Companies.
     He had many interests, but especially enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and relaxing at the cabin.
     He is survived by his 2 children: Robert J. "B.J." (special friend Nikki DeSaer) of Rhinelander, Breanna (Jake) Reis of Oakfield, WI; his grandson: Ryker Reis; his siblings: Lambert (Diane) of Wheeling, IL, Irene Brown of Arlington, VA, Ann Prokopiak of Stanley, Jeanne (John) Moriarity of Falls Church, VA, Virginia Sweckard of Odon, IN, Mary Powell of St. Charles, IL, Frank (Marlene Duce) of Stanley, Lillian Seubert of Marshfield, Lottie Dombrowski of Eau Claire, Therese Seubert of Sussex; sisters-in-law: Noreen Prokopiak of Thorp, and Sharon Prokopiak of Des Plaines, IL; brother-in-law: John Prentice of Parma, OH; his special friend: Cindy Messman of Medford; friend: Pat Seubert of Sussex; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Stacey Ann Prokopiak on March 13, 1990; 4 brothers: Kenneth, Casimir, David and Bernard Prokopiak; one sister: Barbara Prentice; and 2 brothers-in-law: Walter Brown and Paul Sweckard.
