Full Obituary

     ELLEN M. LUCHTERHAND, age 88, of Loyal, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center on Monday, August 27, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate, and burial will follow in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ron Krause, Joe Luchterhand, Adam Luchterhand, Luke Luchterhand, Matt Luchterhand, Brent Brooks, Greg Kulas, and Nathan Lindner. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 9:30am until time of service.
     Ellen Mae Henseler was born on December 12, 1929 in Loyal, WI, the daughter of Jake Jr. and Vera (Vick) Henseler. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1947. Ellen was united in marriage to Orville W. H. Luchterhand on May 25, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal. She and Orville farmed in the Town of York from 1948 until retiring and moving to the City of Loyal in November 1984. Ellen lived in her home until the time of her death.
     She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she held many positions, including, teaching Sunday School for many years, retiring from teaching in 1998; was the church pianist and treasurer for many years, a member of the TLCW, Altar committee and Adult fellowship, served as secretary of the Cradle Roll, and chairman of the church Memorial committee. Ellen was also a member of the Circle 8 Square Dance Club, and a member of the York So & Sew Homemakers Club for 36 years.
     Ellen had many interests, but especially loved being with her family and grandchildren, flowers, gardening, baking, and sewing.
     She will be dearly missed by her 3 children: Patsy (Jerome) Krause of Spencer, Lynn (Susan) of Granton, Mike (Nancy) of Loyal; 9 grandchildren: Amy (Brent) Brooks, Gayle Lenz, Becky (Greg) Kulas, Ron Krause, Joe (Jen) Luchterhand, Adam (Kristina) Luchterhand, Luke Luchterhand (Amanda Von Haden), Matt (Marie) Luchterhand, Polly (Nathan) Lindner; 21 great grandchildren: Dane, Jakob, Kennedy, Tanna, Ethan, Lizzie, Maci, Wyatt, Kenley, Jake, Erica, Dan, Lucas, Emma, Erin, Angela (Stephen), Calvin (Brooke), Brandon, Austin, Kaleigh, and Ashley; 3 great-great grandchildren: Laikyn, Liam, and Kolton; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Orville, on January 29, 1999; her granddaughter: Sarah Krause; her brother and sister-in-law: Lyle (Jeanne) Henseler.
