DOROTHY B. BRISKI, age 93, of Greenwood, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 19, 2018.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Greenwood.  Rev. Leo Stanislaus will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Brian Briski, Nathan Briski, Brian Arndt, Tom Olsak, Gerald Harycki and Dale Benzschawel.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 11am until time of service.
Dorothy Barbara Harycki was born on March 23, 1925 in Schiller Park, IL to Basil and Martha (Straszkowski) Harycki.  As a young girl, her family moved to Thorp, WI where she attended Yaeger State Graded School and graduated from Thorp High School in 1944.  After high school, Dorothy worked at Thorp Finance until her marriage to Michael C. Briski, Jr. on August 2, 1947 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp.  She was a homemaker and farmwife, working on their farm, and also helping her sons, when possible.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she volunteered at St. Mary's school for 17 years, was very active in St. Ann's Society, and had worked on the Town of Reseburg Election Board for several years.
Dorothy had many interests, but especially loved her husband's concertina music, doing things for her family, baking, flowers, gardening, needle work, knitting and crocheting, playing bingo, was an avid traveler after retiring, and was a 13-year cancer survivor.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons:  Jerome (Gay) and Duane (Linda), both of Greenwood; four grandchildren: Erin Briski, Amber (Brian) Arndt, Brian and Nathan Briski; two sisters:  Ann Briski of Chippewa Falls, and Florence Olsak of Elk Grove, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband, Mike, on December 19, 1986; one sister: Marie Kautenberger, and one brother: Joseph Harycki.
