Roy Harold Cook was born on January 17, 1936 in Menomonie, WI, to Harold L. and Beth H. (Pratt) Cook. In 1943, his family moved to Loyal, where he was raised and received his education, graduating from Loyal High School in 1954. While in school, Roy worked as a farmhand for farmers in the Loyal area. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard, and held various jobs, working for Walter Hardrath Body Shop in Spencer, Roddis Plywood in Marshfield, and as a salesman and body mechanic for S&S Chevrolet in Marshfield. He was united in marriage to Darlene M. Pagelsdorf on May 17, 1958 at the Loyal Methodist Church, in Loyal. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year and have lived in their same home since marriage.  From 1960 to 1974, Roy woked at Art's Body Shop, in Marshfield, and later went to work for Land O' Lakes, in Spencer, from 1974 until retiring in 2001.
In his spare time, Roy had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, and his visits to "the Office" (McDonald's) to catch up with his friends. He also enjoyed old cars, watching Western's, and was always thinking about how to make or do things better.
He was a member of Loyal United Methodist Church, and the Loyal American Legion Post 175.
Roy is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Marshfield; two daughters: Robin Krall (Chris) of Spencer, Rhonda (Scott) Fravert of Loyal; seven grandchildren: Tony (Bryanna), Courtney, Aubrey, Cameron, Derek, Desiree and Boden; two great-grandchildren: Ryston and Kaydance; two brothers: Lee (Carol) Cook of Lyndon Station, Dennis (Ruth) Cook of Loyal; one sister-in-law: Alice Cook of Loyal; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Harry Marvin; one sister: Fern Allen; and two brothers: Gene and Larry Cook.
Roy will be dearly missed by all.
