Full Obituary

     HERMINA T. LAWCEWICZ, age 84, formerly of Thorp, passed away at Lake Hallie Memory Care on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, in Thorp.  Rev. Charles Hiebl will officiate and burial will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Dale Lawcewicz, Jason Schirmacher, Mike Schirmacher, Chris Konechney, Mark Lawcewicz, Scott Lawcewicz, Matt Lawcewicz and Ryan Lawcewicz.  Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm, with a 7:30pm rosary service.  Visitation will also be held at the church, on Monday, from 9:30am until time of service.
     Hermina Theresa Hainzlsperger was born on July 2, 1933 in the Town of Hull, Marathon County, to Felix A. and Marjorie (Hunger) Hainzlsperger.  She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Colby area, graduating from Colby High School in 1951.  Hermina was united in marriage to Stanley E. Lawcewicz on April 22, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, WI.  They farmed on Stanley's parents farm until purchasing their own farm in 1958.  She was a homemaker and farmwife until they sold their farm and retired in 1984.  They then bought a hobby farm in the Town of Taft, Clark County, where they lived until moving to The Homeplace, in Stanley, in 2010.
     She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, and a former member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church, in Junction, where she was very active and always worked the 4th of July picnic.  Hermina also served on the Town of Taft Election Board for many years.
     Her many interests were gardening, playing cards, especially UNO with her grandchildren, Polka music, fishing, and was a Damn Good Cook!
     Hermina will be dearly missed by her children: Robert (Ann) of Thorp, Stanley "Stash" (Jody) of Thorp, Richard (Kathy) of Owen, Janet (Morey) Schirmacher of Chippewa Falls, David (Linda) of Thorp, Marlene (Earl) Konechney of Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great granddaughter; other relatives and friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley, on July 9, 2011; and one brother, Joseph Hainzlsperger.
     The family would like to thank the staff at The Homeplace in Stanley, Lake Hallie Memory Care for their assistance, and the staff at HSHS St. Joseph's Home Health and Hospice.
