     ROSE SKINNER, age 97, of Owen, WI, formerly of Lublin, WI, passed away at the Clark County Living & Rehab Center, in Owen, on Friday, March 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the United Church of Christ Congregational, in Owen. Visitation will be held at the church, on Sunday, from 1:30pm until time of service.
     Rose Niznik was born on June 11, 1920 in Lublin, WI, the daughter of John and Anastasia (Siturski) Niznik. She was raised on the family farm and received her elementary education in the Lublin area. As a young woman, Rose moved to Chicago to live with her aunt, and work in her aunt's boarding house. It was in Chicago that she met her husband, Marshall H. Skinner, and they were united in marriage on October 5, 1940 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Church. rural Thorp, WI. After their marriage, they lived in Chicago until moving to Dallas, TX in 1949. Rose was a homemaker and worked as a beautician. In 1966, she went back to school to complete her G.E.D., and would tell everyone that she graduated high school in 1966, with her daughter, Gail. She and her husband, Marshall, actually dressed up in formal attire and attended Gail's Senior Prom. Her husband died on September 14, 1974. She moved back to Withee, WI in the early 1980's and lived with her sister, Helen, until moving to a home in Owen. She resided in Owen until entering Clark County Living & Rehab Center.
     She had many interests, including; painting, sewing, knitting, embroidering, was a skilled seamstress, and her pets, especially her dog, Butch.
     Rose is survived by her three children: John Skinner of Hurst, TX, Gail (Jeff) Ferguson of Baton Rouge, LA, Jeff Skinner of Owen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Marshall; one sister, Helen Rohland; and three brothers: Steve, Paul and William Niznik.
