My heartfelt thoughts go out to Erik and Lori. I have fond memories from all of our Scouting activities, and your Dad putting up with all of our shenanigans!

I enjoyed the love of music Mr. M dispalayed as he played for the Civid Band and then had the opportunity to have this same person be with us in Auburndale. His love of kids, music and life was so dispayed at every event. Blessings and prayers to his family. The world was better because of one person and his love he had for all..

Thoughts and prayers with the family. Gerry was my band teacher from grade school to graduation. We both shared the love of the saxophone. He was a great teacher and was very passionate about teaching his students. I don't know that I've seen a marching band since that performed the way LHS did. A true to credit to him and his creativity for marching band dance moves and memorization of the music. Rest in Peace.

My condolences to the Mrotek family. I am deeply saddened to learn about Mr. Mrotek’s passing. In the mid-90’s, I was a member of the flag corps in the Loyal marching band. He was the best band director a school could ask for. His attention to detail resulted in countless band concerts and parades that were delivered with impressive perfection. He was strict, but we also had fun! I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to march in many parades, and travel to Nashville with the band, under Mr. Mrotek’s direction. I will never forget him.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of your father. His love of music will play on for generations through all his former students. I will forever remember watching his bands "dance" down a parade route, such fun to watch.

God bless you Mr. M. I am so glad I had you as my band teacher! As a teen I was annoyed with all the practices we had for upcoming parades. You would tell us people look forward to watching us preform and I doubted you. But now as an adult I look back and realize how right you were. When I would watch parades and see the bands with no routines and music in front of them while they played I am in awe on how much work and pride you put into all of routines. Not to mention our straight lines we had 😁. Thank you for all that you taught us! May you rest in peace. Play your music for the angels......
