Condolences to the Family of Floyd R. Hanley

Ted. Kaminski Cheverly, Maryland – Posted On: July 13, 2020

I would like to relay in my condolences to the Hanley family on their loss of mr. Floyd Hanley. Mr. Hanley was my shop teacher for 4 years at Thorp High from 1960 to 1964. he was an excellent teacher that kept everyone interested in every phase of the shop courses that he presented. I was always ready to go to his class. I have to especially thank him for being one of the three professors that got me to go to college after high School. Something I never planned to do. As a result of that not only did I get a bachelor's degree but also a master's degree in water resources management. I was able to take that training and turn it into the successful career of international development working in Brazil and Africa. I have I had mr. Hanley to profoundly think to getting me on that path. May his family be comforted by the fact that he must have helped hundreds of people in exactly the same weight. Above and beyond just the basic shop courses. May he know rest in peace.

Fliyd and Mary will be remembered for their many years of service to education. They were active in the WI Retired Educators Association (WREA) and the local Tri-county Retired Educators Association (TCREA). Memory Eternal

Uncle Floyd and Aunt Mary were two of the nicest people one could ever meet. They loved their teaching careers but they loved the life after teaching. Becoming clowns was just one example, out of many, that displayed their sense of humor and fun character. It was sad to see their decline later in life but visiting with them, seeing them always uplifted you. They are united in heaven and we are a bit sadden by their leaving but happy that they are together and at peace.

Floyd and Mary were the most wonderful and well respected people in our town. Floyd was our high school principal, and Mary was Ray's 3rd grade teacher. We'll always remember these two very special people. Our Sympathy to all of their family.
